DETAILS
This client was looking for a whole home makeover with everything being renovated. The team at Bay State worked with the client to renovate almost every aspect of the house including installing a new roof, windows, doors, flooring as well as adding additional space to the home to expand the overall square footage. The newly-added bonus suite in the basement added 1,300 sq. feet of living space to the overall square footage of the home. Even better, the new spaces allow the homeowner to invite and host more guests including in-laws with the newly-added full bedroom and bath in the basement.
Throughout the project, the designers at Bay State worked with the client to find materials that were clean, bright, and reflect light. The white shaker style kitchen cabinetry, as well as white vanities throughout the newly-remodeled bathrooms, helped create a brighter space that gently reflects the natural lighting through the new windows of the spaces. In addition, the hue of grey paint used throughout the home offers a neutral and timeless color to suit almost anyone’s taste. Similarly, the tile options throughout the bathrooms went with a similar neutral theme of white and greys.
Embracing the natural light of the house came through in the construction of the remodel as well. The team at Bay State enlarged the window opening in the master bedroom basement suite to be egress and allowed even more natural light to come into the house and bounce off of the neutral paint tones throughout.
In the end, the client loved the new space and all of the new space it created for their big family. Even better, they can make their family even larger by inviting in-laws over to stay in the fully-finished basement.
